Most beginners worry they're too out of shape, too inexperienced, too old, young, or small, or the only beginner in the room. And in many gyms, that fear isn't unfounded. There are places where black belts don't talk to you, and after 3–4 years you're still treated like a beginner.

What Happens In
When you arrive, we'll check you in and welcome you to the gym. You'll take off your shoes, step onto the mat, and meet the coaches and the other beginners trying it out with you. There's no pressure and no expectations. Everyone there is new, just like you.

Before we start training, we give you a short 2–3 minute explanation of the basic idea behind Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. No complicated theory, just the essentials so everything makes sense once we start moving.
We'll show you one of the most famous techniques in Jiu-Jitsu: the rear naked choke. You'll learn the sneaky way to submit a bigger and stronger opponent, how to control someone when you're behind them, and what NEVER to do when you're losing control. This is where things start getting fun!
Instead of boring drills, we use short training games with a simple goal, like staying behind your partner or escaping a position. About six rounds of ~5 minutes each. Because the games are small and controlled, it's very safe, but you still experience what real Jiu-Jitsu feels like. Most people are amazed how quickly they get a great workout without even noticing it.
At the end we do a quick Q&A. Ask anything about training, getting started, or next steps. If you enjoyed it, we'll walk you through the Beginner Bootcamp, which is our structured 4-week program designed to take complete beginners from zero to confidently training alongside everyone else.

Not at all! This class is designed specifically for complete beginners. You'll learn everything step by step in a safe, welcoming environment.
Most beginners start in their 30s, 40s, or even later. The class is paced for everyone, and no prior fitness or martial arts experience is required.
Absolutely. The Free Intro Day is structured with beginner safety in mind. All drills are guided, controlled, and low-risk. Most people train several times a week for years without getting injured.
Just comfortable sports clothes, slippers, and a water bottle. We provide everything else you need for your first class.
No. There's zero obligation. The Free Intro Day is just for you to try BJJ and see if you enjoy it.
Not at all! On Free Intro Day, you'll only practice guided sparring with controlled resistance. Many newcomers actually find this the most enjoyable part!
Most people walk in alone. The group is full of other beginners, and the coaches make sure you're introduced and partnered up so you never stand around awkwardly.
This isn't a random workout. You'll be learning a real skill, with a coach, partners, and a clear path after the intro, which makes it much easier to stay consistent than a solo gym routine.
No problem! Just let us know beforehand. One of the coaches will reach out before the class so you can briefly explain your situation. During the session, we'll adapt the training if needed. You're always encouraged to train at your own pace and skip any movement that doesn't feel right.
The Free Intro Day is open to everyone. We almost always have women on the mats, and the coaches make sure you're paired with appropriate training partners.
If you enjoy the class, you'll have the option to join our 4-week Beginner Bootcamp, designed to take you from "no clue" to confidently training in regular classes.
Plan for about 90 minutes. You'll play around six short training games (~6 minutes each) with brief explanations in between. At the end, we'll finish with a short Q&A about training and the 4-week beginner bootcamp.
No. For the Free Intro Day you only need regular sports clothes. If you decide to continue, we'll explain what gear makes sense to get next.
That's completely normal. Almost everyone on the mat felt the same way before their first class. The coaches know this and will guide you step by step so you never feel lost or embarrassed.
